(VOLUNTEERS NEEDED) (HOUSTON) Vamos A Pescar 2025 - Basic/intermediate Angler Education

Greetings,

I am looking for a vew volunteers to help at the Vamos A Pescar 2025 Session 2 Event. 

This is a combined Basic/intermediate Angler Education. SEE BELOW

I will fill in all the volunteers with the agenda once I know who can help and the ammount of participants. This is for 10 selected families.

This will be held at the Kenneth D Welch - Outdoor Learning Center 

Welcome to the start of the Houston - Vamos A Pescar 2025 Grant 

This adventure is for 10 families that Fishing's Future has invited to learn everything about fishing over the next few month.

Families will learn Basic, Intermidient, and Advaned Fishing. Will will go to various ponds and lakes.

Families will learn how to hook it, to Cook it

We will do a few surveys and in Aug of 2025 we will meet at Academy and go shopping. Families that have completed all the sessions will receive a $100 gift card to Academt Sports + Outdoors.

Everyone attending must be registered

This is part 1 - Basic Fishing Skills and we will be going fishing.

You will start getting equipment to use and to bring back to each session.

Here is what we will cover

• Families will be encouraged to keep a Family Fishing Journal – Supplies will be handed out.
• Families will be issued TPWD Learn to Fish Booklets in English & Spanish
• Families will be instructed through a registration online signup
• Learning 2 Basic knots
• Learn Texas Freshwater fish
• Basic Equipment – Cane pole & Spin cast
• Rigging for basic fishing – bobber, weight, hook
• Basic Baits for freshwater fishing -
• How to basic fish from land & Pier
• Texas Rules and Regulations
