Greetings Volunteers
Thank You for volunteering at Fishing's Future
EVENT TIME: 3pm - 6:00pm
Fishing's Future has been asked by chapter member Carrie Arthur, to help
with a Pack 1182 Angler Education and Fishing Event at the ponds next to
the Cinco Ranch Playground and Beach Club.
We will need about 4 - 5 volunteers to help with some outdoor round robin sessions and then go fishing.
Set up 4 stations - 15 min time limit for about 10 Cub Scouts (Lion,
Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light) Ages Kindergarten - 5th
grade - Approx total of 40.
We will be following the new Fishing for Cub Scouts that was introduced in June 2024.
1) Learn Rules & Regulations/Safety through the BSA SAFE Checklist.
2) Fish ID (Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish) - Habitat and what bait to us to catch them.
3) Knots - Palomar Knot
4) Casting and Equipment
For those that will be volunteering, I will be sending out what needs to be covered at each station.
The Bear, Webelos, and Arrow of Light (these are highers age groups and they will have some homework to complete)
The Goal is for all these ranks to complete the Fishing Elective.
