Fishing’s Future & the Ottawa Fire Department is excited to announce, Fishing with Firefighters on Saturday, August 9th, 2025
This event is open to the first 75 children ages 12 and younger with no entry fee to join. Registration is ONLINE ONLY and is limited so sign up early! (Complete a separate registration for each child that will be attending.) Fishing equipment will be provided, but you may bring your own.
The fun begins at 9 am in the parking lot of Orlis Cox Sports Complex. (901 West 2nd Street)
- Practice your casting,
- learn knot tying,
- Talk safety, rules and regulations
- Fish ID
- practice water safety,
- FISHING - and of course get to fish with some of your favorite Ottawa Firefighters!
- At noon be treated to a hotdog sack lunch before you head out!
This is a FREE event, but you must be pre-registered so we have enough supplies, equipment and food!
WHAT TO BRING:

* Hat, Bug and Sun Spray
* Snacks are always nice to have
* Something to wipe your hands
